Salient features of the Talisman Corporate Travel System

   

When we first designed the Corporate Travel system it was no more than a tool to capture information from Galileo and transfer this information to a back office file which then generated an invoice, and Itinerary and updated the stock of tickets held in the the inventory files. This same set of transactions then updated the accounting system which produced a Sales Ledger statement for the customer to perform his credit control and collect the monies due to him, and also to create the purchase ledger account to show amounts due to BSP or to any other airline. The difference between the buying and selling prices were then reflected in the Nominal or General Ledger to show the profit made against each transaction.

The system has matured considerably since it was first written and many new features have been added.

  
 

Amadeus and World Span are now included in the CRS connectivity. This is quite an important improvement because our users now have a choice between three large suppliers of  CRS connectivity. The Galileo Inside Access product is available to those who want an Interactive Booking  system on the Web. (See the Talisman Web Booking System)

 

The next Big development was the Travel management module Which was done to give our users the means to offer a complete service to their clients. First an easy means to capture the information required i.e. which fare was offered which fare was within the budget of the client and any savings made. Or the reason for a higher fare being featured. The point at which this information is captured was important because many other systems require the user to input this information later, after the booking is made and by that time the travel consultant may have forgotten the exact context under which a particular fare was taken. The Statistics produced from this information is a winner. The finance director of the client company gets valuable information about his travel budget and the corporate travel company gets enough information to negotiate better deals with each Airline based on the volume of traffic in each route etc etc. The days when you could offer these stats on paper are gone ! Most companies now require these on electronic media such as floppy disks or even as attachments on their email. (See details of the Talisman Fax and Email system)

 

Incentives and conventions were our next target because it is a lucrative area for those that offer corporate travel management. Here Talisman handles a complex group who either book en bloc or as individuals. Take an example of an international company holding its annual conference in three venues but the finale is in another center where all the delegates come together. But wait first of all the venue must be chosen and to do this some research has to be done and quotations prepared and presented for approval. (Talisman does all of this). Now comes the operational part where delegates are departing from different parts of the world and arriving in different venues before converging to the main venue for the finale. Talisman will handle all the Airline or any other forms of transportation with unlimited items on each itinerary and then give you the passenger lists to arrange transfers car hire and all other services to each individual traveler. It will of course do all the Invoicing and update all the accounting records.

    

Overall Talisman is a complete system for Corporate Travel Management.
